Dear Friends and Supporters of the Congo Partnership and of us!
We greet you in the name of Christ! Welcome to the first Baker newsletter (Located above this news letter)!!! Some of you are aware that we are now full-time missionaries with Global Ministries, our Methodist mission agency. We would never have believed that God would “re-imagine” our retirement years in this way! Praise God for God’s direction in our lives!
Now that we are missionaries we want to help keep you informed about our work and the amazing things God is doing through the Congo Partnership. You have always been supportive of us with your prayers and encouragement so we have included you in our distribution list. We hope to be sharing newsletters every 1-3 months depending on our access to the Internet which is quite limited in Congo! If you would like to be removed from our email list, please just Reply and we will do so.
The training in Nashville, not only provided much valuable information, we also had the opportunity to develop relationships with the Global Ministries excellent staff, but also other missionaries serving in countries all over the world. We received blessings, hope and support that will send us forth into the mission field with such assurance. God has blessed us in this new phase of our lives. We are excited to be returning to Congo on June 30 and will continue to keep you in touch with the projects underway and those to be launched there.
For those of you attending Annual Conference next week, and for those of you who would like to attend, we will be commissioned as missionaries by Johnson Bishop at the Ordination Service on Friday, June 5 at 7 PM. Dr. Mande Muyombo who is Global Ministries’ Assist General Secretary, Justice and Relationship will be there to participate and the anticipation of this service gives us “Glory Bumps” (better than goose bumps!).
For those who want to follow us on social media:
Thank you so much for your love and support. We appreciate your prayers as our lives unfold!
In Mission for Christ,
